How to Have a Good LinkedIn Profile by The Transatlantic

LinkedIn is the biggest professional social network and as such, there are a lot of ways to be more visible.

Below, you will find 3 tips to improve your current LinkedIn profile and increase the chance of being seen. Ready?

  •  Fill out the “Summary” field

Instead of forcing a visitor to read your entire profile to understand what you do and how you do it, write a brief summary with a couple of your biggest achievements and a mix of what, how and why you do what you currently do.

  •  Ask for recommendations

People with recommendations are more trustworthy, especially if you have clients recommending you. It may feel funny in the beginning, asking recommendations around, but when people see value in your job and you help them solve their problems, they are going to be more than willing to write something nice about you.

  •  Keep your work history tidy and clean

This one is a must, since having irrelevant positions in your profile will make you be discovered by people with not the same interests as yours than people who are looking for a professional just like you. Also, write down the description of your role, so no one have to spend too much time learning what kind of ninja you are.

  •  BONUS

If you have made through here you are really interested in being a LinkedIn Superstar. As a bonus, I will leave a link from an interview with Jeff Weiner (if you don’t know who he is, Google it) where he give 4 more tips to be successful in the network:
